Commentary
So, obviously the animals didn't work out. I did add them in another version of this, but I cut them in the final work because they were simply drawing too much attention, while I spent so much time on the waterfall and the main tree, the animals themselves are actually quite not-detailed so they becoming the main subject of attention made everything else duller and generally more boring, I think. That, and their colors were so starkly different from the colors everywhere else in the picture that they just didn't fit. So, in short, they didn't work out because I hadn't put any thought into where they would go until the very end.

Anyway, this took forever to do as far as this style of paintings should, but I think that was largely because I spent so much time experimenting, redoing, etc. I did learn a lot from this piece.

Thanks *runningfreely for requesting this!

Critiques welcome, as always. Spare no quarter! XD

This is a truly beautiful piece of art that shows nature at it's best.
The white flowing waterfall really stands out in the middle of the green surrounding, and the foggy forest in the background gives a deep mysterious feeling. I have to say, I really noticed the smallest things in this painting as well, like the blue, green, and brown coloured stones at the end of the water, and the bright green moss growing on the trunk and roots of the trees. I have to say overall this is a great painting, and really shows a lot of effort has been put into it.
